A 38-year-old, tall and thin male patient came to my clinic for his ailments of pain in abdomen and increased frequency of stool of many days. Along with this, he also had flatulence and fullness in upper abdomen. He also had empty eructations from his college days. His complaints exacerbated when he had mental stress or when he was worried. In college days, he had examination funk.
He had history of left inguinal hernia operated in 2008, since then his pain in abdomen was increased.
He also had whole back pain. His back pain increased after work and ameliorated after lying down.
He also had history of pulmonary tuberculosis in 2005-2006. He had persistent cough and pain in chest at that time.
In his family history, his mother has hypertension and diabetes. His father has hypertension, diabetes and paralysis.
On further history taking about his general condition, he had profuse perspiration on neck, forehead and abdomen.
His appetite was good. He felt weak if he did not eat on time.
He had desire for meat, fish, sweet and spices.
He had aversion to fried eggs. It causes acidity. He had great thirst. He had restless sleep, woke up with fright during sleep. His sleep was disturbed easily, as from slight noise.
He had fearful dreams like death of relatives, of snake; Woke up with fright.
He had intolerance to cold.
In his mind symptoms, he had lot of anger which was never expressed. He was fearful and sensitive. Slightest things or bad news affected him. He had history of domination by parents. He was feeling depressed in those days. He was getting addicted to alcohol and smoking in college days.
On above history taking his medicine was prescribed to him. On his very first follow-up after one month, he was completely normal. He didn’t complain about anything. His stool and abdomen were absolutely normal, Feeling too much better.
